Diablo III Pre-Release Rant
It has come to my attention that there are a lot of unhappy children. Why are they unhappy? For many reasons. They don't grasp the idea that like everything in the world; cars, toys, electronics and even games - eventually evolve.
Before I start ranting, let me just announce to those of you who don't follow along with blizzard's every word, that a new character class has been released. The Wizard. The wizard can slow time and blah blah blah. It's kind of a futuristicky Mage/sorc combo. Go youtube it, if it matters to you.
Now, aside from the fact that most of the people bitching are extremely illiterate sociopaths, they are mad because Blizzard has decided to change-up and add new qualities to Diablo III that Diablo II Never had. In Diablo II, you could change your character's stat points such as STR, DEX, HP..etc... But this time around, like World of Warcraft, they chose to use an Auto-Stat system. It's just like WoW. I know it sounds fancy but it's not. Every time you level your stats auto adjust for your class. This makes a lot of hardcore D2 players angry because they "loved" being able to change their build. They now assume that because they can't change their stats, they can't change builds.
From that alone, it has come to my attention that hardcore D2 players are crybabies who probably never played WoW. Blizzard took a leap by using the auto-stat system for WoW and it worked better than they probably thought. You can still choose your character build by the skill tree...But apparently that's not enough because they want it to be the same as D2. If you want it to be the same game, play D2 and stop bitching. To make up for the auto-stat 'issue', they added runes to the table. Not like the ones in Diablo II; Where you stick 3-5 in an item to spell a certain runeword. Instead, each rune gives a certain quality. Still, people bitch. "They are only doing this so stupid kids can play!" But the only ones acting like children are the "hardcore" D2 players who are whining.
Listen...Give Blizzard some credit. They know what the fuck they are doing, ok?. They have been making games for a long time now and every game they put out was a complete success, probably far past their expectations. It's the reason they are successful at creating games and own a multi-million dollar company and you do not. They have some of the greatest game artists, engine designers and minds behind their creations. Chill. The complaint that "They are just trying to make it easy for all the new kiddies to play." is annoying. Sheesh, I am sorry, I didn't know that you Elitist gamers who so proudly chant battle shouts, quoting lines from the lore, were the only ones allowed to play D3. I have been playing Blizzard games since the 5th grade when I stumbled upon Warcraft pre-installed on my PC in computer class. Since then I have been keeping up with almost everything they do and it amazes me that half of you brats crying probably don't even know the year D2 was released. You probably don't even know they had a commercial for the game, too.Yes, they probably have made it more noob/kid friendly as far as playability. If they did, they did it for many reasons.
The original crowd that loved Warcraft I & II, Starcraft I, and Diablo I & II are now 10 years older. Most of them probably don't even keep up with Blizzard games anymore nor do they care for the continuing lore. They have lives to lead. Doctors, Lawyers, Game Designers, (insert career here)...etc. Like all things die out, so do fans. So who else should they invest in? The younger/new crowd; the next generation looking for a good gaming fix; to inject into their brains. Blizzard isn't being "asshole'ish" or "money hungry" by doing these 'oh so drastic' changes to what are apparently YOUR games. They are just watching their investments to make the proper career moves and their biggest investment is the audience they bring in with their games. Which includes the always aging youth and their current fans. You all act like Blizzard owes you something. Let me just remind you THEY ARE A BUSINESS.
Let me explain it in another way. Let's say...the company "MuseWear" started introducing Elvis Presley T-shirts at the height of his career in 1970. Years pass and they continue to print Elvis Presley shirts, even after his death. But as time goes on they notice their sales for just printing Elvis T-shirts are dying because it's just not attracting the right people anymore. Elvis is old news and the newer generations are more likely to listen to up to date music. So, MuseWear decides to start printing 2Pac T-Shirts. See? Their clothing line still has an old school flavor...But they changed it up to attract a wider audience of people. All of you Elvis people(D2 Elitists) Are now bitching.. "What the hell MuseWear...Why did you stop printing Elvis shirts! Couldn't you just print the same Elvis shirts with a new look? Life isn't fair...The world will never be the saaaaaaameeeeeeeee waaaahhhhhh"
Geeetttt oooovvveerrrr iitttt. By the way; add whatever musical artist you want. I just see Blizzard as more of a 2pac instead of a Jonas Brothers type of company.
